Barra Imaging Bird Count

I have decided to set myself a goal of photographing every bird that has appeared on Australian shores and its surrounding Territories. I hope to be able to have done the main body of birds over a period of 5 years which I started in about Jan 2007. As of the end of Feb 2009 my count is 479 main species and I supplementary from the List by Christidis and Boles 2008 edition of which they say is 867 species. Of these, there are about 12 that are extinct and 33 on the supplementary list (birds that have been seen here from overseas but not enough to be put on the main list till ratified).

Soon I will have a website database that will give you at a glance information on the species and the date that I photographed and seen the bird. In the mean time I will up date the Bird count weekly or when I return from a trip so the count as of the 27/01/09 is 476.
